Welcome Year 6!

Welcome to Year 6 with Ms Martin and Ms Calixte. We are both so excited to teach you this year. We will work hard but will have a fantastic year with lots of fun and learning.

We are also incredibly proud of the love of reading that we promote within our school. Ms Martin and Ms Calixte LOVE reading and we hope that we can spread our love for books with all of you.

Key Messages

Drop off to school is from the main gate on Wordsworth Road or the back gate on Cowper Road.  The main gate on Wordsworth Road is open at the end of the day for you to collect your child from their classroom. If you would like your child to walk home alone, a letter of consent must be signed. These letters be found in the office. The gates are open from 8:30-8:45 in the morning and from 3:30-3:45 in the afternoon.

PE is on every Friday morning; children can wear their PE kit all day. Later on in the year, year 6 will also have the opportunity to go swimming.

Available clubs are:

• Breakfast Club everyday 8-8:30
• Basketball every Monday until 4:30
• Choir every Monday until 5pm (at St Paul’s West Church)
• Art & Sewing Club every Tuesdays until 4:30
• Multi-Sports every Wednesday until 4:30
• Football every Wednesday until 4:30
• Girls Football every Thursday until 4:30
• Cricket every Friday until 4:30

Homework

Every Friday, we will set you homework and may be online or on paper. Homework needs to be completed by Wednesday. Homework is a fantastic opportunity to practise learning from the previous week and to identify things we might not understand and need further help with.

Children in Year 6 will also regularly receive and change books.
