At St Matthias, we want our children to know who they are; ask questions about the world around them; use their voices to make a difference and aspire to greatness. Look through this page to see how we are doing this in Year 5.

Welcome Year 5!

Welcome to the Year 5 homepage. Miss Calixte and Ms Henry are really excited to welcome you back to school. This year, we have some very exciting things planned to teach you.

We are also incredibly proud of the love of reading that we promote within our school and you can see all of the wonderful books we read throughout the year here.

Key Messages

Drop off and collection from school is from the back gates on Cowper Road. The gates are open from 8:30-8:45 in the morning and from 3:30-3:45 in the afternoon.

PE is on every Thursday afternoon; children can wear their PE kit all day.

Year 5 clubs are:

 

  • Athletics every Tuesday until 4:00 and every Thursday until 4:30
  • Sports every Friday until 4:30

Y6 Residential Trip to Howtown – Monday 21st November – Friday 25th November 2022.

Homework

Every Friday, we will set you homework using Google Classroom. It will be the same link every week and the activities will be updated. Homework needs to be completed by Wednesday.
