🍂 Harvest is a time for giving, gratitude and community. ❤️

A huge thank you to our wonderful St Matthias families for their generosity this Harvest.

Our donations have been gratefully received by Tottenham Foodbank, who shared how much this support means at a time when so many families are facing financial challenges.

A beautiful reminder of our school values in action – faith, hope and love, but the greatest of these is love. 💚

What happens when our children’s voices are chosen to sing alongside the choristers of St Paul’s Cathedral? 🎶✨

Every week, our classes have specialist singing lessons with the teacher who trains the choristers at St Paul’s — developing confidence, technique and a real love of singing.

And sometimes, something very special happens… 👀

Keep an eye on our next post to see what happened when our children got the chance to Raise the Roof. 💛

At St Matthias, this is how we roll.

Making playtimes irresistible is a big part of what we do, so we secured funding to purchase skates for all of our KS2 children to enjoy.

And whose idea was it to introduce roller skating?

The children’s. 💛

They asked. We listened. And now they’re rolling.

🌿✨ We`re delighted to be featured by Love Hackney for our work to boost biodiversity and outdoor learning!

At St Matthias, we`ve transformed our outdoor spaces to help children connect with nature every day. From our mud kitchen and growing spaces to bug hotels, meadow play and Forest School sessions, our pupils are learning, exploring and caring for the environment through hands-on experiences.

We`re incredibly proud of our children, whose enthusiasm and creativity are helping to make our school greener, happier and more wildlife-friendly.

Thank you to Hackney Council and all our staff, families and partners who have supported this journey.

This week, Year 3 put their Physical Education (PE) lessons to the test when they took part in their second Sport Inspired event at Britannia Leisure Centre. The children were amazing, showing resilience, encouragement, and effort. Well done everyone☺️

At St Matthias this is how we heatwave! We spent our days hiding from the sun- but every class needed a break and an opportunity to cool down! Making memories and having fun. Our school stayed open every day- our children came to school. Our staff are amazing. This is how we do it at St Matthias. 🔥

The Year 2 sunflower plants are now big enough to be transferred to the playground planters!
